Since its inception back in '87, the Air Max has been a game changer for Nike and for sneaker cultures as a whole. Taking inspiration from the landmark building in Paris, Centre Georges Pompidou, Tinker Hatfield incorporated the Air technology first introduced in 1978 to the sole unit of the sneaker. The rest, as they say, is history.

Although we've seen so many version of the Air Max, the legacy and the influence of the original model remains. This proven to be true due to the iconic releases and colorways nike has been putting over the past three decades. The Atmos collab with the elephant print, the Amsterdam, the Kid Robot pack, and the mythical Albert Heijn colorway are only a few of so many designs of the legendary Air Max 1. Nike even bring back the Atmos colorway and it has already been sold out everywhere.

The sneaker has even piqued the intereset of many celebritites, including Mick Jagger. Jagger is known to be an avid sneaker colletor, especially the Air Max 1. There's a photo of him performing while casually rocking the Kid Robot colorway which was probably worth $3000. Not only MIck Jagger, the fashion designer Phoebe Philo has also been seen wearing a pair of the ultra-limited Urawa Dragons colorway while closing her fashion show for Celine.

With all that has been said, wear your Air Maxes and may you have a happy, instagram-worthy Air Max day
